Planning Blog: Participants, Locations, Schedules, Protocols
The participants that I will be using in this film are:
Jake Kreis - Jake (myself)
Kimberly Kreis - Jake's mother
Miguel Restrepo - The monster
Filming: Jake Kreis, Camilo Prado
Editing: Jake Kreis
Directing: Jake Kreis
Safety administrator: Kimberly Kreis
I would've liked to include more characters and a more diverse array of locations and things going on in my film, but due to the circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic, my mom and I agree that limiting the amount of people working on the project would be most beneficial. My two friends that I am including in the filming process are in close contact with me regularly from soccer, and we are all tested regularly. For all of the scenes involving close contact, we will try to limit how much actual action is occurring to curb any injury or illness from passing. There will be an adult on site at all times to ensure our health and safety.
Schedule:
3/8/2021: I will film the establishing shots around my neighborhood. This isn't a set date, but whenever it is a nice sunny day, I want to take the opportunity to get this out of the way.
3/9/2021: I will film the scenes of the dialogue with my mother in them. She is not busy this day, so I will try to cover all of the daytime dialogue and possibly the nighttime. If not, I will leave it to the next day.
3/10/2021: I will record all of the scenes with the monster involved with my friends. They have off this day, so we will take the opportunity to fill it up with filming.
3/12/2021: I will fill in any of the gaps in film that I have, and try to take any kind of voiceovers that I need such as the doorbell, the books crashing, birds chirping, etc.
3/13/2021: I would like to begin the editing process on this day, ensuring that I have all of the film, dialogue, additional sounds, to get everything together and begin transforming it all into the final product.
3/20/2021: I would like to finish the editing of my project by this date if possible.
Locations:
I will mainly keep to filming in and around my neighborhood, my front yard, and the kitchen and my own bedroom. This way we are not exposing ourselves too much to other people and coronavirus concerns.
