Music Video Research Blog
For my music video, the actors starring in it will be my friends Miguel, Camilo, and myself of course. I have a few people that are able to film us too, so I should be able to employ many new camera angles and movements. This is subject to change due to the COVID pandemic and other possible scheduling issues. They are not students in the class, but I have managed to convince them to do this with me. I am going to do the majority of the editing myself, but my friends will most likely help me with the filming process to make it come out as good as possible. I and a friend will be dressed up as Christmas elves. We will be wandering around sunny Florida trying to find Santa. I hope that by the time Thanksgiving passes, there will be Christmas decorations set up around the city. I know a few places already, one downtown, and one at the beach with big Christmas trees and decorations. We will knock on doors Christmas caroling, run around under trees, make presents, and ask people where Santa is. One of my friends will be dressed up in a Santa costume, and we will find him in a mall. I have a lot of ideas similar to this, but with the public humility in it all, I hope that we just do some of the things. I think that this will put a funny spin on "All I Want For Christmas" serving as a sort of creepy stalking of Santa who is not even really him. As far as props go, we will use caroling books, bells, and possibly maps or something of the like. One of my favorite Christmas movies, Elf, does something similar to this, but on a much larger scale. With the music playing in the background, I plan on us finding Santa and singing the song to him. This would signify that our mission is complete and we could finally give him the gifts that we've been making. I think that it will end with us putting out gifts under the tree with Santa. Given all of this, we should have enough film for at least a couple minutes of footage. I want to do as many takes in as many settings as possible and really get a good story together.
