Title Research: Art of the Title Website

On this website, I saw many different and unique ways of introducing a film title. My favorite one that I found was the opening scenes from Raised by Wolves, which had breathtaking visuals and deep singing to back it up. Although it didn't show much of what the show was about, I was hooked into wanting to watch more. I also liked the title sequence for Out of Her Mind which used simple things out of place on a subway to demonstrate the woman's craziness. When she is the only one reacting to the music and colors around her, it emphasizes her difference to others. I also like the more simplistic title sequences, when they are smoothly transitioned into the beginning. I don't believe that anybody wants to watch a credit scene at the beginning, especially when it takes the mind away from what the film is going to entail. Especially for a horror-comedy type opening scene, I want to keep it mysterious, and not too crazy or experimental. I want it to flow right into the movie, and to not take away from what is going to happen, but merely establish a sense of direction for the film to run off with. I will hope to take some establishing shots which create a quiet, but simple frame for my titles to place over, grabbing the viewer's attention to what is about to occur.
