Title Research: Fantasy Genre
For this genre, I chose the classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
- What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The author of the original, adaptation, the director, the name of the film, the writer, the songwriter, the narrator, the songs, the co-producer and producer.
- What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? they use Christmas trees, snow, stars, and Christmas presents.
- What connotations do these images carry? they carry a happy, nostalgic feel, with all of the old figures, gives off a magical, happy vibe to everything. It sets up a nice establishing scene for the film to take place.
- How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? By creating a scene out of all of these clay, paper machete type trees and presents, the audience can assume that there will be fantastical things occurring in this film.
- What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? There are bright colors used in the ornaments are shiny and the stars on the trees are glowing, the presents look appealing and every child loves Christmas and is bound to recognize some of what is going on.
- How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques. The way the angle is smoothly rolled throughout all of the scenery, giving time to each and every name, makes the entire thing much more appealing to watch, as the full scene is being slowly unveiled to you.
